A ford pickup, or a toy?

I was behind a Ford Shelby Raptor pickup. It had two tires mounted in the back. Probably as spares. Looked like room for a bale or two of hay.
To me it looked like a rather expensive toy. At 525 hp, It did leave the stop light fast. Anyone seen one, or maybe own one? Starting at 53k I doubt I will be going to my ford dealer soon. Stan

All the half ton pickups ride really nice, but a Raptor puts them to shame when on a long cruise. My son has one with the 6.2 V8, no gas mileage but who cares. Its fun to drive, like a big mustang!

Sounds like the 1960's when the Big Block mils came out....cheapest, lightest, bottom of the line car with a big can of whoopie under
the hood. I gotta laugh. We were out on a country one night and a loudmouth was boasting about his 1969 Biscayne 2 door, 348
Chebby with 3 duces and 3 on the tree.....was from California, stationed in Texas and everything was Cal. this and Cal. that......

So this real quiet guy was there and was driving his mothers 1955 4 door 265 with a powerglide.....Haaaaaaaaa. Never guess who
won. You guessed it... the quiet guy. I know they use Powerglides in dragsters for the fast shot without spinout. That was the hot
dog's problem.....he didn't know how to drive his hot dog car.

And then on to 1971 and a friend had a Red 2 door Biscayne with a 409......speed limit was 60 at the time.......

My sons college roommate has one. He bought it used . Still think it was expensive.

$53K sounds cheaper than most diesel pickups, some of those were over $60K ten years ago already.

525 horses are too many for me to feed.
I bet it can pass most things on the road today,
It just can't pass a gas station without stopping.

A friend has one. He has no hands hardly any arms. They are cool! I may get one next. Hear they ride really smooth.

A toy. A really fun toy! Or better yet, fun transportation? Not for me, but I'd certainly like to play with it for a few days.
