There are two tests you can do. With the engine off and cool turn the center part of the clutch pulley by hand to make sure the compressor is not frozen.
Unplug the sensor and locate the wire on the compressor clutch housing that powers the electromagnet on the clutch. Using a jumper directly power the clutch and listen to see if the clutch is making any clicking sound. You do not need the engine running to test this. You might want to loosen the fan belt so that the entire clutch pulley can be rotated by hand.
It is possible to run the compressor for a short time with the engine running just to trouble shoot it. Some sensors only lock out the compressor if the pressure is too low. Other sensors are both high and low limiting and will also lock out the compressor if the pressure is too high.
