Today's corn is all bred for a combine and will shell very bad at the rolls on a mounted picker. I parked my Deere 237 mounted picker and got a 300 pull type because I felt it would shell less corn. The Allis Chalmers 170-190 pickers and the IH 234's used deck plates over the rolls to help with shelling. I would sort of like to find a 234 with brackets for a Deere 3020 someday. I have a crib of ear corn that we are hoping to shell out next week. Tom
