I've seen the videos and I agree that there are differences in construction. Does it make a real-world difference in the longevity of engines, or is it just a scare tactic to get you to pay for the expensive filters, which have a better profit margin?
Got 218,000 out of my last truck, engine was still going strong. Used nothing but the "inferior" Fram filters, and nary a hiccup. The body was falling apart around it after 12 years in the salt.
