ollar General adds a "stupid" tax to everything they sell. There is no lower quality available anywhere.(quoted from post at 12:07:41 03/27/21) I must hasten to add, though, I wouldn't get caught dead buying Dollar General oil. (;>)
Oh and antifreeze!(quoted from post at 17:17:14 03/27/21) I reckon they will go after automatic transmission fluid next. I see type F in just about every store there is. It hasn't been specified in forty years.

(quoted from post at 09:20:32 03/28/21) Motor Oil is pretty straight forward.
The SAE rating (Society of Automotive Engineers) rates the viscosity of the oil
The API (American Petroleum Institute) takes care of rating the additives and quality of the oil.
I think the present rating on acceptable oil for modern vehicles is SM, changing to SN in May of 2021
API Oil Ratings
estimonials are not worth jack. Here, I'll give a testimonial, too, I installed an engine in a different make car & there was a frame to oil filter interference, so I made a bypass plate & ran with no filter ever after, with no engine problems................so, it is therefore to be concluded that oil filters are just unnecessary baggage! Or maybe, no filter is better than a Fram?(quoted from post at 16:28:32 03/29/21) All that Fram nonsense has been circulating for years and years and years. Like fixing elections and Russians infiltrating every facet of our life in the west and computer tracking chips in the vaccines, I discount it as mass hysteria. I've used Frams forever on all my vehicles once they get their oil changed by myself and I have yet to have an engine issue yet. For every claim that Fram (and other filters) are junk, there are opposing views that state otherwise. Somewhere I'm sure a person could find the same sorts of claims with your so-called top end filters. This one below is a good example, but of course it could secretly be a Russian publication.
