Most always buy aftermarket. though I di price from dealers. Sometimes the dealer is just as cheap as the aftermarket part and will fit. There are a lot of things I don't buy over the internet. I do have a parts place for both aftermarket and quality lines of products from vendors like Baldwin, or wrenches from suppliers and then seals or bearings from various different levels of price and quality. Lately though I have wondered on some things. If he is just buying them from Ebay and marking it up some and reselling. One of the venders/suppliers I question is the Automann parts. I got a supposed to be stainless steel water pipe for the truck bottom radiator hose. It came coated on the outside and would not have a magnet stick, except at the bend in the pipe on both the outside and inside of the bend. Called company supplying said part was told it was coated to protect against corrosion. I said if it was good stainless it didn't need to be coated so it must be either poor stainless or not stainless. I was assured it was good stainless. I had my brother look at it he though it acted like it was probably stainless. We both had a good laugh about the coating and the statement the guy told me. Yup there is some stainless steel that a magnet will stick too. It will be easier for you to look it up than me to explain it. It has to do with w level of chromium and nickel in the stainless. At my age if it lasts as long as the other 2 did I may not want the truck anymore and if it doesn't then I guess I can find a better grade then. Last 2 went 10 years each about.
