As others have said it really "depends". Quality wise, you probably can't go wrong with OEM parts. Some items that don't have the factory paint on them, like spark plugs for example, are pretty competitive. Other items can be pretty pricey. I've told this story to a few friends and it's worth repeating. About 3-4 years ago, my mom needed a starter for her older John Deere Gator. I never did check the price at the dealer because my mom probably wouldn't pay it. So I went online and found one for $35 shipped. Yes, that's thirty-five dollars, postage included. For that price, I thought I would roll the dice. The replacement starter had the same marks and tooling as the factory one that I took off. I installed it and it's worked great ever since. I doubt that I'll ever be that lucky again. Anybody want an old, worn out John Deere Gator starter for a core? ;-)
