I remember as three year olds, the neighbor boy and I would stop, come to attention salute and yell "Bombs over Tokyo" whenever a big prop engine aircraft flew over our backyard. A popular child ritual here in flyover country. His Dad's brother was shot down in his F6 fighter by a Japanese plane in the Pacific. He didn't come home until 1959. We both left the University and came home to get pretty well liquored up with his Dad that day.
