We changed companies a few years back, the prices were consistently much higher than the competition, call and inquire and they would price match for 1 fill then jack the price back up.
Called them up to cancel and I was told about all the fees I would be charged for them to pump out the propane, pick up the tank etc.
I had enough of their pricing games so I really didn't care as what I was going to save on the first 1000 gal fill from the other company would still leave me with money ahead of the game.
New company came out with a new tank, lifted the old one up and transferred the contents into the new one.
When he was done he even offered to return the old tank to the other companies yard which saved me all of the fees I had been quoted.
I would say shop around and see who wants your business.
