Neighborhood dairy farm went organic about 15 years ago and went back to moldboard plowing. It was the only way they could suppress the weeds. They spread their cow manure in middle to late May and then plow and plant immediately. Everything gets to start from ground zero that way. And it's plenty warm enough to get fast germination on what they planted.
