First of all, engine needs to be room temperature. Then start by tightening each plug just a bit. Then loosen and hope for the best. When they had the original plugs, I would loosen by an 1/8 turn, then fill the plug wells with carbon cleaner, let it sit overnight, and pull the plugs in the morning. Now that they are all on their second or third set, I haven't done the overnight soak. Save yourself having to do the job again, don't buy the Champion one piece plugs, they don't last long. Most of the Triton 5.4 I deal with having a misfire of late, have Champion plugs in them. Plus, those Champion plugs are expensive. Use Motorcraft.
