I'll put my bets on it being a Dodge. I had one once back in the 60's, a '41 2 ton flatbed. I had a very unnerving experience with that truck. I was driving on a main street (no load) and the stop light turned red. I pushed the brake pedal and it went to the floor. Meanwhile a half dozen young kids stepped off the curb to cross in front of me. I laid on the horn. Fortunately a police officer near the kids stepped in front of them and with wide arms scooped up the whole group and got them out of the way in time. I did stop with the transmission band brake, but more than half way through the intersection. Just this horrible memory brings tears to my eyes. Thanks to the police officer, no one was hurt.
