I have Ford 4000 HD backhoe/loader with the S O S transmission. All gears were working OK but not "like new". I got into a situation where I had to move 3/4 of a mile through woods and swamps on an old 2 track. It kind of made sense at the time to tow it in NUETRAL with my other tractor. I started it up and placed the selector in "N" so all my son had to do was steer it. After I got it to where I needed to dig NONE of the gears work, although some sound like they want to. I can move it using the backhoe bucket and arms (pushing/pulling). What did I break? Did I strip the traction control because in my haste I forgot to disconnect it.
