The primary purpose of the adjustable link is to level out the plow when plowing in-furrow, as in the right wheels are in the open furrow from the previous pass, and the tractor is leaning to the right.
To that end the right side of the plow would need to be raised, or the left side lowered, so the plow sits level while the tractor is leaning to the right by several degrees. Since ground clearance tends to be a precious commodity, raising ought to be the preferred solution.
If you can get the range of motion you need for whatever you're doing, I don't see a problem with switching it, though.
