Today I planted about six acres of a forage sorghum. The variety I plant is planted in rows with a corn planter and chopped for silage with a corn head on the chopper. I had planted one field June 20th and it is knee high or better. Not sure if today's planting will do much as it is plenty late here in sw WI. Our days are already getting shorter. Both plantings will need to be frosted to be dry enough to harvest. Chopped last year on one of the coldest days in Dec. I guess it all depends on the rest of the summer and fall. We also finished chopping second crop hay and covered the silo. First time covering a silo alone in a long time it sure makes bags look more appealing. Tom
