Over the years, I have always saved my change coins. After I accumulate a sufficient amount, I would take them to the bank and cash them in for bills that I would add to me "mad money." Then, if there was something I wanted that was not within the household budget, I used my mad money.
Now, with all of this hysteria over the virus, the banks around here have their doors locked. If you want to enter the lobby, you need to call and make an appointment.
I can't see myself calling the bank to make an appointment to cash in my coins. They will have to wait until things return to some semblance of normal. Meanwhile, I will continue to save my change.
