There are several interlocks that prevent deck engagement, and starting. They are connected so that it is as safe and frustrating as possible. I am sure there is one under the seat to make sure a body is sitting where they can control the systems. There is likely one on the clutch, and the shifter (likely). I do not know how electrically experienced you are, but with a diagram/manual, it would take about 15 minutes, without and experienced about 20 minutes. It is all in tracing wires, and assessing the switches for appropriate action. some normally closed, and some normally open. (seat) Jim
