I have a fall calving beef herd and rent two bulls every Nov 1.I pay $1000 and keep them until Feb. or March. Works good for me as at herd check last friday cows were bred for a very close calving window. The owner has a large beef operation and is up to date with all his vaccinations and we are as well. There is another farmer that rents lots of dairy bulls. We would get a clean up bull from him sometimes when we milked. If one got mean or sick he would tell you to send it to the auction and bring you another.If it died you needed to pay for a vet exam and if not your fault no fees. Tom
