They come apart pretty easy, won't have any trouble at all in a 6 foot bed.
The one in our front yard is over 20 years old, replaced the bearings once and replaced the aluminum rotate bearing with a thick wall steel tube after the aluminum wallowed out. Installed a grease fitting so I could lube it when I lubed the bearings. I used cheap bearings just like it came with bought off eBay, as long as you keep the bearing spacing fairly close (adjust with washers) and keep it greased it will go for many years.
