Try work good even in corn stalks. They pivot up so they rid over corn stalks. They do help a lot to level the ground. We used to use one on the sandy round and then just plant right in the plowing. Wasn't great, but ok. My brother used a brillion packer hooked to his plow for quite a few years. He has some loose sandy soil and it worked great there to spring plow with the packer and plant right in it.
