Caterpillar guy, thank you for your response. I m sorry it took me so long to get back to this. I work for a hospital on the ambulance and needless to say we ve been a little busy. So I m off today and I m getting back to it and following what you posted. I added 3 gallons of hydraulic fluid and started getting a little bit of stiffness in a minor amount of fluid movement but the steering wheel just continues to turn even though it s a little bit stiffer. I m not sure where the hydraulic filter is located. Could you tell me? I m thinking it might be the right side of the transmission case where there s a plate that can be pulled off but I am not for sure and there s not much help on the Internet for these Old state tractors.
I check the hydraulic fluid level again and it showed full so I added another 2 1/2 gallons and it did no change. There still a slight bit of resistance and fluid movement from the steering wheel but I m not getting enough pressure to activate the steering ram. The dipstick on the hydraulic fluid shows it to be over full by about an inch. Again any help would be appreciated thank you. Ron

Silo Filling Time On dairy farms back in the 30's and into the first half of the 40's, making of corn silage was done with horses pulling a corn binder producing tied bundles of fresh, sweet-smelling corn plants, nice green leaves with ear; the
