I like the Terramites, have rented them on several occasions at my old house. Moved a lot of dirt and kept the yard looking good.
One of the jobs I hired a dirt contractor for was removal and re-landscaping an area with a big old ugly concrete patio poured by a previous homeowner. Every bit of ten inches thick, but no rebar but plenty of cracks running through. Thought jackhammering it was the way to go. No, we'll take care of it, the contractor said. They used a Bobcat rubber-tracked loader, got under one edge of it, lifted it high, and WHAM! Let it drop, breaking it into pieces. Repeated that until it was gone. Wasn't their first rodeo. Patio was roughly 15 by 25 feet. Few hours work and they totally transformed the yard, ready for new grass.
