Looks like three different starters were used, Lucas, Delco, and Bosch. I'm NOT sure if they all fit, or if anything else changed along with the make of atarter.
How it's repaired or replaced will depend upon the cost of the needed parts and the brand name you have.
The solenoid could have simply stuck/contacts welded, or the drive or linkage to it could be worn, loose, or coming apart.
For some starters, the way parts prices are, by the time you buy a solenoid or a drive and figure in some labor you might as well have bought a new or re-man starter.
There's some good aftermarket ones out there with a price that beats messing around repairing your old one.
