I disagree with the guys who say you should take it off. This would be a conversation piece at a show. I like old aftermarket accessories. Everybody has a stock one. That old "sock" filter is meant to be pulled out, washed in parts cleaning fluid, or gas, and reused many times. Keep searching until you find the original manufacturer. Part of the fun of having it.
