I purchased a 1951 Model A a few months ago & I need some feedback regarding Dealer Service Manuals. I was told that John Deere didn"t make a a service manual for the Model A so the owners are using the manuals for the Model 60 instead. I ordered a Service Manual that supposedly covered the Model A from Peaceful Creek Auctions but sent it back the next day -- half of it was electrical & only 1/2 page applied to my tractor. It also included John Deere"s SM-2000 which I have & the last 80 or so pages was the Model A IT Manual. I also have both the Owners Manual and the Parts Manual which are very helpful but I need something that shows the "nuts & bolts" of the entire tractor so to speak. Also info as to where to connect the tube off the oil pump for Oil Pressure Gauge etc. I grew up on a farm and did field repairs all the time so mechanical work is not new to me.
Your expertise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance. Lyle

In my younger days, mom, dad and my brother made frequent visits to dad's youngest brother Pete, who took over the home farm from grandpa MIke. It was the typical set-up, milk cows, pigs & chickens.
