The aquifer here is incredible, the amount of rain for the last few years is too. Even in dry summers, the water table just does not seem to fade for any reason. I had the well tested at the place below that I am buying, the flow test ran awhile, no change in the water level. In the lower areas, I recall digging a hole and hitting water at 6'-0" or approximately so. There are springs along the hill side and down at the old farmstead, I had to dig a ditch drain a substantial one, it just comes out of the ground. It was not like this in the 70's but was a wet area in the same spot. Springs on the hillside dry down if we get a dry summer. Old time well driller stated years ago, its an inexhaustible aquifer, but I have no way of proving that, just thankful it's likely never to be a worry. Along the gentle slopes here are small wetlands, that filter off quite a bit of nice clean water, the one ditch runs most of the year.
