Our club hosts one three-day show on our grounds each year and we also cover the liability for a small, one-day annual show in a neighboring community. Our five buildings include a multi- purpose hall with kitchen and heat/AC, a block restroom building, sawmill, large engine building, and a building full of both club- and member-owned tractors and equipment. Our insurance policy costs a little over $3000 per year but over 80% of that is for property coverage - the liability line items are relatively inexpensive. We have a good track record with only a couple of very minor claims in the past 20 years so that probably helps keep our costs low. In the quick-to-sue society that we live in I wouldn't even consider doing any kind of public event without an insurance policy.
