Tractor club insurance

Question for some of you tractor club guys. What is your club doing for liability insurance? How many events per year does your club have? Can you tell me approximately what you are paying in premiums? Thanks for your replies.

I don't think there are any limits on the 4 clubs I belong to. But I cannot give you any other information.

Junkshow owns 72 acres, 65 buildings, do one 3 day pay at
gate event and you don?t want to know!!

Our club hosts one three-day show on our grounds each year and we also cover the liability for a small, one-day annual show in a neighboring community. Our five buildings include a multi-
purpose hall with kitchen and heat/AC, a block restroom building, sawmill, large engine building, and a building full of both club- and member-owned tractors and equipment. Our insurance
policy costs a little over $3000 per year but over 80% of that is for property coverage - the liability line items are relatively inexpensive. We have a good track record with only a
couple of very minor claims in the past 20 years so that probably helps keep our costs low. In the quick-to-sue society that we live in I wouldn't even consider doing any kind of public
event without an insurance policy.

Our club was registered with this USA group years ago until they quit offering it to Canadians and Canadian Clubs. Not recommending it, but read through the details, something you or your club might be interested in.
EDGETA insurance ....

Just do your investigations on different insurances companies and really understand their policies. One thing that the club I belong to found out was when one of the club members got hurt, the insurance was only on non members. Luckily his accident wasn't as costly as it could have been. The club ended up paying for the total bill. Good luck and be careful.
