EXACTLY! I laugh everytime time I hear one of those buy gold ads, "your money can be made worthless!! Buy gold!! And how to they value that gold? In that worthless money they talk about. Also laugh when I talk to some doomsdayer that stashes Gold becaise his money will be worthless. I love to tell them that if that happens and we are all starving that I would not trade my last food for a truckload of gold.
Not saying that investing in gold or owning a bit of it is a bad idea but it surely is not the answer to financial security in all events that some claim it to be when one spends just a bit of thought on the subject.
