I�m in search of a rear brake drum for my chore truck. 1935 Chevy 1.5 ton. I�m not worried about having enough metal to turn it or anything (it never goes above 45 miles an hour and is used to feed cattle each day) but the keyway on my right rear one is badly egged. Too many years of choring in the mud with tire chains. The axle itself is a bit muggled but it cleaned up pretty good.
I�m guessing if I can�t find one I�ll make a new keyway 180 degrees from the current one but I hate to leave that egged keyway. I�d think it will crack there eventually. Anyone got an old truck in their junk pile?
