Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your 5140. I had one, and ran it over 8,000 hours, then it would have days when it would act funny. I had friends that also had the same model tractor, and they started to also have the very same problems. Two of them took their tractors into the dealership for repairs, got them back fixed, and they came back with bills over &15,000.00. Seems the internal hydraulic pump is unique to this model tractor, and the cab has to come off, and tractor splitting make these repairs. Possibly the down fall is the one common hydraulic fluid. And the internal parking brake. As the parking brake wears out, where can worn brake parts go but into the hydraulic system? I traded my tractor in on a new tractor, as I didnt want to be stuck putting a huge sum of $$ into a old tractor. Excellent tractors when new, and a engine that cant be beat, but they are now nearly 30 years old. I think CaseIH would like to forget about Maxum tractors from the 1990s
