I know a feller that has cameras named Blink. If you have wireless internet, the cameras use one or two AA batteries and record with motion. He has some in front of his home pointed to the street with regular traffic in a subdivision and the AA batteries have lasted ~6 months so far, very impressive.
One issue with cameras, even wireless, is the need for a power run, I never would have believed batteries, especially two AA batteries would last that long, but they have.
If anyone is interested, do your own research and testing before going all-in and make sure they work for you, in your situation. I have no connection to the company, nor am I even a customer. Myself, I have hard wired cameras to my own DVR/NVR. The Blink cameras record to the "cloud" which is general speak for recording to the companies' data center, owned or contracted.
