I dunno about that. When I was a teen I worked for a local builder. My immediate supervisor was in his 40's and became a friend to me. I made a comment like that once and he told me never to wish a moment of my life away, take the parts you don't like along with the parts you do and make the best of it all. Good man, Rudy. I miss him and do my best to follow that advice.
