Well when one is trouble shooting a tractor many times you have to try to start it standing beside it. But again you only read what you want to read and I tell people to be 1000% sure it is out of gear. But yes in most of the time I do start my tractors while standing beside them but again I am 1000% sure there out of gear and as for how one starts a tractor it is not common sense it is a practice thing and many times needed to fix a problem. I have never been run over by a tractor starting it standing beside it because I always use common sense in doing so.
