Your mower looks to be cutting pretty good. I used to cut with a New Holland 451 "pitmanless" mower. I don't miss it at all. Cutterbar down on the ground hitting every mole hill would eventually break a sickle or guard. Best money I ever spent was a slightly newer, but well used, NH 479 haybine. Maybe it is the higher knife speed or the reel but that thing cuts through grass that would have stalled the old mower even in first gear. The mower eventually broke some expensive parts in the "pitmanless" drive and I parked it. Plenty of videos of me and the 479 working on youtube but I won't bore or annoy anybody with links to it. Picture of it here on the Cockshutt 40 but I won't run it with an open tractor since I can't stand the grass pollen.
