The trailer and its cargo was 10,000 lbs and the fueled truck with me in it is about 6000. Add them together to get the combined weight of 16,000. I never said I was towing a 17,000 lb trailer! I did say that per the manual my truck's GCWR is 17,100 lbs but this of course isn't the towing capacity.
