I"m sure the real reason the front end didn't come up was the low position of the drawbar, in tractorpulls the drawbars are usually set at 18 or 20 inchea off the ground. when used for ordinery farm work JD D's AR's and like tractors drawbars were more likly to be at 12 to 14 inches, plus the height of the plow hitch had a direct affect on the drafth.
