I don't know if they offer a drive over deck on a 3 series jd but if they do I'd really consider it. I know Kubota does on smaller tractors but I've heard it's not to successful. It's your money but I would think about the loader as well. It will be handy to lift the deck up to clean it out and sharpen blades. I don't think one color is any better than the other. They just have different options.
