The 540 545 Allisons are a good trans.The governor might have to be adjusted so it shifts properly ...We got a new rebuilt from a diesel powered schoolbus and when we put it in a gas powered truck it would not shift at the right time.Took it to an Allison dealer and they fixed it for 150$. If you plan on using the power-take off pull the cover and make shure there is a gear in there cause some are built without one not a big deal to install while the trans is out..........Big Mike
