If it hasn't been started, (but probably has), crack loose all the oil drain plugs, try to get any water out, then close the plugs.
Get it running and going through the motions before investing in new oil. That way if there is a problem, and something needs to come apart, you don't loose your new oil, or have to deal with trying to keep it clean.
Check the air cleaner. If it's an oil bath, there is probably a wire mesh inside the canister that needs to be periodically taken out and cleaned.
Look everything over under the dash, hidden places for mouse chewing, nests, damaged wiring, hoses, etc.
Your service manual should walk you through more than we can list here, spend some time with it, it will be a wise investment.
Look inside the gas tank, take a fuel sample. If the tank is dirty, water, rust flaking, it needs to be dealt with before connecting a clean carb to it.
