Black or gray smoke?? What oil did you use as in say a 30W oil or say a 20W-50 or say a 10W30??. Smoke can be many things and cause but a number of problems.
Black smoke running to rich. Gray oil burning. A white sort of smoke that smell like antifreeze is a head gasket of cracked head.
