Spent Grain

This is a off topic question but thought perhaps someone reading this board might know something about feeding spent brewers grain to dairy cattle and heifers. A local brewery will let any farmer with his own truck just come and get a load of spent brewers grain. I dont want to make my cows sick though and have no experience feeding it. I searched the net and did find one article but it doesnt say much about the actual feed value or how to feed it. Thanks
