you do not need to drill any holes just have new gaskets. No way that cover should be full of water as that means mag body would be full of water even the point area. You must need a new top cover for the coil and gasket. I have 60 pluss yrs with those mags and have never seen one with coil cover area full of water someone must have used hi-pressure water to get that area full of water.
