Is the hydraulic filter a spin on type or a canister type with a replaceable cartage?? If it is a cartage type pull it back off and see if you can install it backwards. The Century tractors, built by the same company, had a canister type filter with a check valve built into it. You could put them in backwards and then they would not prime.
Also did you put as much oil back as you drained??? On some models you have two oil chambers and it takes time for them both to fill. So if your way short on oil going back in then you need to wait and recheck the level again.
