Please help! Branson 7845C air locked after service?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place... feel free to move. It's also a new tractor and not old so I'm not sure if its allowed on yesterday's tractors but I'm desperate!
I'm turning to the Internet hoping to find expertise. I text my dealer but he hasnt responded... his shop is closed so I didnt expect it but it was worth a shot.

Is anyone familiar with Branson tractors and their 50hr service? I have the manual that came with the tractor along with the 582pg shop manual on my computer and it has proved useless. It instructs changing the oil and fluid and filters but that's it...and to check the levels

Yesterday we did the 50hr service on our 2019 Branson 7845c. We drained the oil, changed the oil filter, and refilled. Check the levels after it ran and it's perfect. We also drained nearly 15gal of hydraulic fluid, changed the filter, and filled with new fluid. All per the manual. Checked the levels and all good.

Tractor started up perfect, no indicator lights..went to put the FEL up and no response....tried the back hydraulic implement....no response.
The steering is not tight and the tractor will not move forward or reverse. So it's currently a giant peice of steel blocking the garage with all hydraulics lowered (fun!)...

I didnt want to leave running long in case the pump isnt working for fear of burning it up or of fluid wasnt running through. It's like the whole hydraulic system is I responsive because it doesnt even wince if you touch the lever.

Nothing else was fooled with on the machine. Just oil and hydraulic fluid changes. Does anyone have any insight? I'm hoping maybe someone familiar will be on so I am not tractors through the rest of the holiday weekend.

Also, I searched for a bleeder bolt or something of the sort on the pump and found nothing..any secrets? We think it's most likely airlocked.

Thank you in advance

Julie

Not being a expert here. Sounds like there is air in the system. I would loosen the inlet pipe to the pump to make sure it has fluid to the pump, then tighten it back up. If so loosen the discharge side just a little. If it has pressure you will see some oil real quick. That means you have hydraulic pressure. Other than that I have no idea what to do next. Stan

Is the hydraulic filter a spin on type or a canister type with a replaceable cartage?? If it is a cartage type pull it back off and see if you can install it backwards. The Century tractors, built by the same company, had a canister type filter with a check valve built into it. You could put them in backwards and then they would not prime.

Also did you put as much oil back as you drained??? On some models you have two oil chambers and it takes time for them both to fill. So if your way short on oil going back in then you need to wait and recheck the level again.

JD seller may be right but I think it has a spin on filter. My suggestion is go to the fill where
you put the hydraulic/transmission oil in. Wrap a rag around an air nozzle and induces low pressure
air into that cavity for about two minutes , then as you continue to hold air there crank the
tractor, think you problem will be solved. YOU were smart in not running it without the pump having
oil. Please post your results.

Thanks to you both...we got it working. There is no bleeder but we ended up taking some of the hoses off around the pump and putting hydraulic fluid in them direct.

It seems to have fixed the air bolus and we are back in business, sort of. It still isnt working in reverse but we need to work it through.

I did drain 15 gal about and I put 15gal back in. Then checked it.. will recheck now that I know its flowing. The specs state it hold 16.63gal. So it could be a tad shy.

Thanks again for your quick replies. I'm keeping my log I handy because we've worked through 3 "new tractor breakin issues" so far and without the Internet, would be even more frustrated.

It's a nice tractor, but damn those older ones are so much simpler. I can look at my little cub and know where a problem is, trace it, fix it..no hidden gadgets or surprises.

a while back a customer call me said his kubota lost hyd after he changed the filter i as him if it had oil in it he said yes thinking i ask about the hyd sump i was asking if he had put oil in the filter as the filter fits right on bottom of pump this being a 20 plus year old tractor most hyd pump do fine once thy have prime but this one would not pick up the oil i took off filter no a drop of oil in it and of coures he didnt have any hyd fluid so i ck the bottle on my service truck had about two quarts engine oil filed it up started up the tractor pick up oil right away so next time you change the filter on fill it with oil could save you lot problems. one thing if you doing the oil and filter on hyd system change fluid first start tractor charge your system with the new oil then change the filter could saved you som trouble

Hello, FMF welcome to YT. As you can tell by now we don?t always live up to our name and have
a little knowledge that can be applied to modern tractors as well. I see your immediate issue has
been resolved. I am curious if your owners manual recommends changing hydraulic fluid at the 50
hr interval. To me that seems excessive, I would think that would be on an interval of more like
150 hours or even more. I could see them recommending changing the filter more often than the
fluid. I could see them possibly running a short first change interval on the first service just Incase
some clutch wear or hard part of break in adding contaminates to the hydraulic fluid. I guess bottom
line is save yourself some grief and only change it when called for in the manual.
As for your mouth maybe you?ll have to work on that.

Hello! Yeah, I wasnt sure if I could post about modern ones....that's why I theu my cub in there at the end. Lol
That little bugger gave me problems yesterday because it stalled and still on 6v and wouldn't start..i do t have a 6v charger or jump so that's on my order list now. Not sure why it died on me though so I'm keeping my log in handy on here and may visit a board with cub knowledge because I'm just getting to know that machine.

Anyways, on the Branson it does state to replace the hyd oil/filter as well as oil/filter. There's a couple other checkpoints like blowing the air filter, greasing, and front axle fluid (I didnt do that yet). I'm following the dealers direction as to avoid voiding the warranty but in the operator manual it does have to replace at the 50hr mark. It seems like such a waste so I'm using the hyd fluid from the middle of the drain for other implements around the farm because it's a shame to dispose of it. It's almost new! I read people foregoing the service for the hyd because they feel it's a money making scheme but to me, spending $220 is worth it to follow manufacturer's recommendation after spending $40k+ on a tractor, I'd hate to chance anything with the machine or warranty.

Lastly, we have bird dogs (GSPs, weim, black lab)so we raise birds on the farm..choker, pheasant, quail, pigeon s..along with your typical farm flock of chickens, ducks, turkeys hence Fowl Mouth Farm and it's a farm so those foul words are used occasionally ;)[/img]

Being down a gallon should not affect operation of the tractor. The fluid levels vary by at least that much through normal usage of hydraulic implements such as the loader. Extending cylidners takes more oil than retracting them so lift the bucket all the way up and dump the bucket, you've drained multiple gallons of fluid from the reservoir. It's designed to have a very wide operating range.
