I went at it from two different angles on an old roadster that I am finishing up now. I bought and installed Dynamat pads, and I have also applied a lot of ice and water shield. The Dynamat reduces the amount of sound that can come through a panel from sound generated on the other side. The Ice and water shield inhibits the ability of the panel to produce sound from vibration by bonding to the panel and preventing vibration. The Ice and water shield of course costs a lot less than the dynamat. I have only about 90 miles on it but I am very happy so far. Since you have already tried the foam component, I suggest two layers of I&W shield then the cab kit.
