I drive a Dodge truck w/a Cummins engine.The manufacture specifies 4 filters to be used with it and said any other will void the warranty.The reason at the time was the after market filters were shedding fibers in the oil and the fibers worked their way into the piston cooling nozzles and plugged them, causing wrist pin bushing failure.I have literature both from Chrysler and Cummins describing the problem.I thought I would add this 2 cents because there are a lot of tractors out there using the Cummins 6B5.9 engine.
