For you doubters? The self driving vehicle is coming. Make no mistake about that. Driving down the interstate 120 miles is a publicity stunt. Nothing more nothing less. But that is going to be the future. Not today or tomorrow. But it's coming. At first they will make the companies have a driver on board to take over if it malfunctions. It's cost effective for the companies to chase this stuff. Only time the truck will have to actually stop is to load and unload, take on fuel and maintenance. No having the truck sitting idle while a driver sleeps. Trucks don't make money unless they are moving with a load on.
Now there will be a few issues. There always is with something new. First time a driverless truck is involved in a serious injury accident or it kills someone they will pull em off the road till they figure out why. Then of course there will be litigation. But eventually they will get it. The question is as more and more jobs are replaced with machines what are people going to do for money?
