Lets face it, modern dry paper filters are manufactured for convenience and also for marketability. Which reason is first doesn't really matter. This topic showed up some time ago on the forum and some guys claim that the oil bath filter is actually at least as good as paper filters. Myself, I don't really know, but I can't see going to any great expense to convert an older tractor, I don't see any real advantage to be truthful. Consider these tractors have been using that old system for 50-60 years or so, I'd say the oil bath system worked pretty well. Just my 2 cents.
