Guy at the auto parts store talked me into putting an 8 volt battey on my Ford 850. Worked good until the battery went dead. Ford would charge it properly. Had to put the tractor on a battery charger every time I parked. Threw it away last summer and went back to the 9x volt. Hadn't had a starting or charging since.
